Shipping Policy

Welcome to Rue Pinard. This Shipping Policy explains how and when your bottles are delivered, whether stored in bond or shipped to your home.

Scope and Definitions
- “In Bond”: duty- and VAT-suspended storage in a bonded warehouse.
- “Duty-Paid”: bottles released from bond for delivery to a non-bonded address.

1. Bonded Storage Deliveries
All bottles purchased through Rue Pinard are, unless otherwise stated, stored in bonded warehouses (London, Bordeaux, Brussels, Hong Kong, Miami, New York). While bottles remain in bond, no VAT or excise duties apply. You may keep bottles in storage, sell them directly from bond, or request delivery out of bond. Bonded trades are final and not eligible for returns.

2. Shipping to Your Home (Duty-Paid)
When bottles are released from bonded storage for delivery to a non-bonded address, local VAT and excise duties apply. These additional charges are the responsibility of the customer and are calculated based on the delivery destination. Rue Pinard and its logistics partners handle customs clearance and export documentation on your behalf. Delivery takes place only after all duties, taxes, and shipping costs have been settled.

3. Shipping Costs & Times
- EU deliveries: typically 5–10 business days from dispatch.
- International deliveries (USA / APAC): typically 10–20 business days from dispatch, subject to customs clearance.
Shipping fees include secure packaging, insurance, and handling. Exact costs are shown at checkout. Dispatch timelines begin once exit-from-bond formalities and payment are complete.

4. Taxes, Duties & Customs
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, shipments are Delivered At Place (DAP). Local duties, taxes, brokerage, and any import fees are payable by the customer. Customs or carrier inspections may extend delivery times. Documentation for export is arranged by Rue Pinard or its partners; destination import compliance remains the customer’s responsibility.

5. Restrictions & Compliance
Some countries or regions restrict alcohol imports (volume limits, licensing, age restrictions). Customers are responsible for ensuring local compliance before ordering. U.S. deliveries are available only to 43 approved states. We do not ship to P.O. boxes or addresses where alcohol delivery is prohibited.

6. Packaging & Insurance
Parcels are packed in industry-standard, protective shipping cartons (original wooden cases may be repacked for safe transport). All parcels are insured during transit. Insurance coverage and risk during bonded storage follow our Master Customer Agreement.

7. Weather Protection
To protect quality, shipments may be held during extreme temperatures. Orders will ship when safe transport is possible. If a weather hold applies, we will notify you.

8. Delivery & Signature
An adult of legal drinking age must be present to sign for delivery (21+ in the U.S.; local legal age elsewhere). At the recipient’s request, deliveries left unattended (e.g., porch/garage) are at the recipient’s risk and fall outside our post-delivery support.

9. Address Changes & Undeliverable Parcels
Address changes after dispatch may incur carrier fees and can delay delivery. If a parcel is undeliverable due to an incorrect address or repeated failed delivery attempts, additional redelivery or return charges may apply.

10. Lost or Damaged Shipments
All parcels are insured and securely packed. Please inspect deliveries upon receipt.
- Report any visible damage or shortages within 2 business days, including clear photos of the outer packaging, labels/closures, and affected bottles.
- We may arrange collection or provide return instructions for inspection.
- Once verified, we will replace (if available) or refund in accordance with applicable law and our Master Customer Agreement.

11. No Returns for Bonded Trades
Bottles held or traded in bond are not eligible for return or exchange. After execution and allocation to your bonded account, the transaction is final. For duty-paid consumer deliveries, statutory rights may apply where required by law; exceptions may apply to goods subject to market price fluctuations and to unsealed goods.
